Register Terms and Conditions
The IIAL safeguards the quality of independent post-bachelor certification and registration of Action Learning Professionals.
REGISTERS
IIAL aims to achieve its objectives, among others, by:
- establishing and maintaining one or more registers in which legal entities (training institutes/consultancies) and natural persons may be registered if they meet the criteria referred to under point 2;
- establishing, revising where necessary, or supplementing the criteria on the basis of which certification and registration in the IIAL registers are granted;
- assessing, upon request, the information submitted by applicants against the criteria referred to under point 2;
- granting permission, subject to conditions to be determined, to use one of the designations established by the foundation based on the assessment referred to under point 3;
- providing information from the IIAL registers to interested parties;
- carrying out and promoting activities and research to develop and enhance professionalism in the field of Action Learning Professionals;
- carrying out and promoting research into the quality of education, training, and similar activities in the field of Action Learning and their improvement;
- certifying the legal entities and/or educational programs and training referred to above;
- providing information regarding the activities of IIAL;
- employing all other means that may contribute to achieving its objectives.
Admission to an IIAL register is granted to natural persons or legal entities who meet the conditions laid down in the relevant regulations and who have submitted an application for admission to the IIAL Secretariat in accordance with the provisions of the General Register Regulations.
General Register Regulations
1. General
1.1 IIAL is an independent register.
1.2 IIAL aims to:
- promote the quality of theoretical and practical knowledge, skills, and applications in the field of Action Learning in Europe;
- consolidate and safeguard expertise and professional knowledge in these areas;
- perform all acts directly or indirectly related or conducive thereto.
1.3 From its independent and impartial position, IIAL seeks to realize these objectives by:
- establishing and maintaining one or more registers in which natural persons may be registered if they meet the criteria established for each register;
- establishing and maintaining post-bachelor certification;
- determining and, where necessary, revising or supplementing assessment criteria on the basis of which permission for registration is granted;
- with the applicant's consent, verifying whether submitted information complies with the criteria for registration in the intended register;
- granting permission, under established conditions and for the duration of the registration, to use a designation established by IIAL in various forms of corporate and/or personal presentation;
- regularly auditing both registered persons and register regulations for completeness and relevance, and, under established conditions, providing information from a register to interested parties.
1.4 The Board's authority to establish or amend regulations derives from Article 10 of the IIAL Articles of Association.
2. Definitions
For the purposes of these regulations:
- "Regulations" means these regulations;
- "Register" means the registers referred to in Articles 1.3.a and 1.3.b;
- "Registered Person" means the natural or legal person admitted to the register;
- "Register Owner" means the natural or legal person who initiated the establishment and maintenance of a specific register;
- "Applicant" means the natural or legal person expressing the wish to be admitted to the register;
- "Application" means the written request for admission to the register;
- "Application Form" means the form provided by IIAL for submitting an application;
- "Accepted Training or Education" means a course or training listed in the admission requirements of the relevant register regulations;
- "Registration Fee" means the annual financial contribution payable by the registered person for registration or renewal thereof;
- "PE Activities" means activities related to Continuing Professional Education;
- "PE Point" means the unit expressing the value assigned to a Continuing Professional Education activity;
- "Continuing Professional Education" means the structured maintenance of knowledge and keeping up with trends and developments in the relevant professional field;
- "On-the-job Training Activities" means PE activities aimed at improving professional expertise through practical work or personal training;
- "Professional Field" means the field in which the registered person works or operates;
- "Experience" means demonstrable professional experience as defined in the relevant register regulations.
3. Admission
Admission to the register and post-bachelor certification is granted to natural or legal persons who meet the conditions laid down in the relevant regulations and who submit an application to the IIAL Secretariat in accordance with these regulations.
Written communication also includes identifiable and signed email correspondence acknowledged by the IIAL Secretariat, as well as scanned PDF documents containing identifiable author information corresponding with the sender of the accompanying email.
4. Application for Admission
4.1 Applications must be submitted personally by the applicant or by an authorized representative of the legal entity and include:
- a fully completed and signed application form;

proof that:
- the applicant has successfully completed the education or training specified in the relevant register regulations; and/or
- the natural persons acting as board members, trainers, or lecturers in the relevant field possess demonstrable work experience and/or meet the conditions set out in the relevant register regulations;
- a copy of a valid passport or national identity card;
- a recent passport photograph.
4.2 Incomplete applications will not be processed. Applicants will have 14 days to provide the missing documentation.
4.3 If the submitted information still fails to meet the requirements after supplementation or correction, the application will be declared inadmissible.
4.4 If incorrect information is provided, the Board may decide not to process the application. The applicant may submit an objection within fourteen days.
4.5 If an applicant has improperly used an IIAL quality mark before applying, the application will not be processed for a period of ten years.
5. Decision on Admission or Rejection
5.1 The Board decides on admission based on the submitted information and advice from the Assessment Committee.
5.2 Applicants will be informed in writing of the Board's decision.
5.3 A rejection decision will include reasons. Applicants may appeal within two months.
5.4 Appeals will be submitted for a second opinion to the Assessment Committee.
5.5 The Board will issue a final decision within three months.
6. Registration and Duration
6.1 Registration takes place after approval, acceptance of the applicable code(s) of conduct, and payment of the registration fees.
6.2 Registration fees must be paid in advance.
6.3 Registration remains valid for the period specified in the relevant register regulations.
6.4 Approximately six months before expiration, IIAL will inform the registered person about renewal requirements.
6.5 Renewal documentation will be assessed before extension is granted.
6.6 In the event of rejection, the appeal procedure described in Articles 5.3 to 5.5 applies.
7. Termination or Suspension of Registration
7.1 Registered persons may request termination at any time.
7.2 The Board may suspend or terminate registration if the interests of IIAL or the register are harmed or threatened.
7.3 Registration will be terminated if it was based on incorrect information.
7.4 Registration will be terminated if fees remain unpaid after written notice.
7.5 Registration ends if the registered person no longer works in the relevant professional field or upon death.
8. General Rights of Registered Persons
8.1 Registered persons are entitled to written proof of registration.
8.2 Registered persons may request IIAL to provide proof of registration to third parties.
8.3 Registered persons will be listed in the relevant public register on the IIAL website.
9. Obligations of Registered Persons
9.1 Registered persons must immediately report changes to their personal data.
9.2 Registered persons must use their registration and related quality marks appropriately.
9.3 Registered persons must maintain their professional competence through Continuing Professional Education.
9.4 Registered persons must report suspected misuse of IIAL registrations or quality marks.
10. Disclosure of Register Information
The following information may be published on IIAL websites or public registers:
- surname;
- initials;
- prefixes and academic titles (limited to: Bc, BA, BSc, MBA, MCC, MSc, MA, ir., ing., mr., drs., dr., prof.);
- email address and/or LinkedIn profile, if requested by the registered person.
Registered persons are personally responsible for maintaining the accuracy and completeness of their registration details.
